NIHJA Executive Board

Palatine 8Toni Bruns is the President of the Northern Illinois Hunter Jumper Association. She has been working with horses for over 50 years and been part of the NIHJA board for over 20 years. Toni enjoys watching the association grow and thrive. She loves attending NIHJA shows because riders support each other in healthy competition. Toni loves the excitement of riders year round and watching both horses and riders improve throughout the season. Toni teaches and trains at Palatine Stables in Palatine, Illinois.

 

 

 

ValVal Buesching is the Vice President of the Northern Illinois Hunter Jumper Association. She has been working with horses for over 25 years and been part of the NIHJA board for 8 years. Val enjoys being part of NIHJA because she enjoys encouraging children to ride. She loves teaching young children and enjoys the moment when the “light bulb” goes off.  Val teaches and trains at Red Coat Farm in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois.

Kristie Hohol is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Northern Illinois Hunter Jumper Association. She has been working with horses for over 15 years and this is her first year on the NIHJA board. Kristie enjoys being a part of NIHJA because riders of all levels are welcome to participate and she enjoys watching riders grow. Kristie has been brought up on the NIHJA circuit starting as a short stirrup rider and is now an experienced horsewoman. Kristie currently enjoys the horses at Palatine Stables in Palatine, IL.

Dean Battaglia– Dean has been working with horses for 44 years and been part of the NIHJA board for 11 years. He has been a large R  judge and course designer for 20 years. Dean enjoys bringing riders along to help them reach their full potential. He enjoys the NIHJA circuit because he tries hard to make horse shows a memorable and fun experience for all involved. Dean is the owner/trainer of Victorious Farm in Woodstock, Illinois.

 

 

Alexis 4Alexis Bumbar– Alexis has been working with horses for over 30 years. She has been part of the NIHJA board for 5 years. Alexis likes being part of NIHJA because the circuit helps develop sportsmanship within competition. She enjoys watching riders connect with their horses and develop true horsemanship skills. Alexis teaches and trains at Dassenbrook Stables in Elburn, Illinois.

Liz Calomino– Liz has been working with horses for over 20 years. She has been part of the NIHJA board for 7 years. Liz likes being part of NIHJA because she enjoys supporting a great association that promotes sportsmanship and is supportive. She enjoys every facet of the sport on the ground or in the saddle. Liz enjoys riding at Victorious Farm in Woodstock, Illinois.

 

 

 

 

JenJennifer Heldt– Jennifer has been working with horses for over 25 years. This is her first year on the NIHJA board. Jennifer enjoys being part of NIHJA because she values teaching riders how to compete with integrity. She loves educating riders, watching horses and riders become a team and enjoys teaching riders of all ages and levels. Jennifer teaches and trains at Cross Winds Farm in Marengo, Illinois.

 

 

HannahHannah Johnson -Hannah grew up around horses. Hannah has been riding and competing for 23 years. She loves riding on NIHJA because of the support everyone gives to one another and how everyone cheers each other on. Hannah enjoys riding at Birch Hill Farm in Wauconda, Illinois.

Natasha Lasiowski– Natasha has been working with horses for over 20 years. She has been part of the NIHJA board for 2 years. Natasha likes being part of NIHJA because of the family atmosphere and environment. She enjoys the challenge of working with each horse and rider individually to meet their needs by determining what works best for them. Natasha teaches and trains at Escapar Farm in Maple Park, Illinois.

Sari Reid– Sari has been working with horses for 22 years. She has been part of the NIHJA board for 4 years. Sari likes being part of NIHJA because riders and trainers are supportive of new riders and the shows are fun! She enjoys breaking horses and training young horses. Sari teaches and trains at Red Coat Farm in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nancy PicNancy Zeis– Nancy has been working with horses for 56 years. She is one of the founding members of the NIHJA circuit. Nancy likes being part of NIHJA because of the comradery and the supportive atmosphere. She enjoys seeing improvement in horses and riders during lessons. Nancy teaches and trains at Infinity Farm in Hawthorne Woods, Illinois.

Lynn Greetis– Lynn is the Points Secretary and Webmaster for NIHJA. She has been working with horses for over 20 years and been part of the NIHJA board for 4 years. Lynn enjoys being part of NIHJA because it’s a fun, supportive atmosphere where everyone cheers each other on. Lynn rides and enjoys her horses at Red Coat Farm in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois.
